(EastWay Cont) - bike clinic, Eastway Teen Idol, flea
market, bone marrow screening, health and wellness
information, radio personalities, community resources,
radio personalities, community resources, park and
recreation, Law Enforcement and Fire Department.
Law Enforcement had on display their newest mode of
transportation used to catch criminals and drug dealers
in the community.  They now have motorized dirt bikes
that can travel off the main streets.
We (HVO) gave the bike clinic on safety.  Micheal
Stoeling (a member of our club) who is a member of a
local bicycle gave out free safety helmets. Mike did
some minor maintance repair to few of the bikes and
explained why it is important to maintain your bike in
good condition.  Mike also explained to the participants
why it is important to wear a helmet while riding your
bicycle.  The kids participated in a bike rodeo and
received prizes.  Members on the (HVO) in attendance
were President Gladys Highland, Richard Highland,
Michael Stoeling, Ron Hare, James Johnson, James
Stewart, Odell Witherspoon, Henry McCown, Everett L.
Adams, Thomas Wilkins, Toney Smith, Tyrone Freeman,
Jr.
Thomas Wilkins worked with EastWay School for the
HVO Club.  Toney Smith and Asst Principal Tyrone
Freeman, Jr., are members of HVO.
Our club works with EastWay School throughout on
several projects.  The latest is the Oratorical Contest
which we just completed.
